For best results, avoid placing hot food directly into the bin (heat and condensation can affect longevity) and air dry both the bin and filter fully before reassembling after washing.

They're not airtight by design as ventilation is what helps prevent premature spoiling.

Yes, the oak lid on the Bread Box doubles as a chopping board, making it a genuinely multifunctional piece. The Bread Box holds at least two loaves and is designed to keep countertops clean and bread fresh. Note: the bin is not airtight, so for very fresh bread we recommend keeping it in a bread bag or its original packaging inside the box.

While it does prevent a lot of air flow, the Bread Bin is not air tight. We recommend using a bread bag or silicone pouch inside the bread boxes for fresh bread or storing your loaves in their original packaging. This also helps to prevent crumbs and keep your bread storage clean.
