Period Poverty Is Real. Here's Why We're Taking a Stand.
One in five Australian women have struggled to afford period products. That's not a statistic from overseas, that's here, in our communities, often hidden because of shame and stigma. Share the Dignity is working to change that. And in April, we were proud to stand alongside them as part of our Charitable Giving Program.
The Partnership
As part of our 2026 Charitable Giving Program, we supported Share the Dignity, an Australian charity dedicated to ending period poverty and advancing menstrual equity for women, girls, and anyone who menstruates.
Share the Dignity runs several programs including their It's in the Bag campaign (collecting handbags filled with essentials for women experiencing homelessness and domestic violence) and their network of Dignity Vending Machines, which dispense free period products in schools, hospitals, and community spaces.
Our team picked and packed twenty toiletry bag kits to the value of almost $5,000 and will be delivering them into the hands of the Share the Dignity team in Brisbane next month. We're also heading up as a team for their next packing day and donating our team to help pack the Share the Dignity packs. Stay tuned for when!
Why this matters to us
Seed & Sprout was built on the belief that everyone deserves access to products that are safe, effective, and kind to the body and the planet. Period poverty is a barrier to that and it's one that falls hardest on people already facing disadvantage.
Supporting Share the Dignity felt like a natural extension of our values: caring for People, and caring for the whole person.
You made this possible
Every purchase you made this year contributed to our Charitable Giving fund, and part of that went directly to this cause. Thank you for being the kind of customer who makes this kind of giving possible.
