I love the look of this but unfortunately it seemed to really attract tiny insects - I’d prefer it be a fully sealed unit. I use the bags and now tightly twist it closed before putting the lid on- I don’t want to empty it every day but unless I do that (seal the bag) the bugs come and it was really frustrating / I never had that happen before with my other container - This one is a whole lot cuter tho! Live the colour.

Thanks for the feedback, Jan! So glad you love the look. The air holes keep airflow going to get composting started. The charcoal filter helps with smells and bugs, but it’s not fully sealed. Twisting the bag is a clever trick. You can also pop a DIY fruit fly trap next to your caddy using our Dish Bar or any dish liquid with apple cider vinegar in a jar. Give the filter a quick clean now and then too.
These filters are of great quality and are the reason I love my compost bin so much compared to other brands. They keep the smell away & the fruit flies to a minimum. I love putting a drop (or three) of essential oils on them too (I personally love using peppermint or lemon for this).
