Use & Care

This is an indoor Kitchen Compost Bin - use outdoors is not advised and may affect longevity. Both the bin and filter can be washed in warm soapy water. Avoid hot or boiling water as this may damage the paint. Do not place in the dishwasher. We advise against placing hot food in the Compost Bin as the heat and condensation can affect longevity. Make sure the filter and the bin are both air dried before reassembly.

How do I compost my food scraps?

Simply empty your scraps directly into your outdoor compost bin. If you're lucky enough to live in a council area that collects organic food waste simply add your scraps to your green bin. If neither of these are possible we'd encourage you to check Sharewaste to find your nearest composting option!

Can you keep a compost bin in the kitchen?

How often should I empty my kitchen compost bin?

It's best practice to empty your compost bin like you would any other kitchen bin. Every couple of days we empty ours into our outdoor compost, give the lid, base and filter a rinse and allow to dry and reassemble.

Cutest compost bin

Love my seed & sprout compost bin. Cutest I’ve ever seen. Looks great in the kitchen and I’ve even sourced some white-ish coloured compostable liners which look way better than the usual green bags. I used to always want to put my council issued bin away in the cupboard because it looked ugly, but now I’m happy to keep it on the bench! Also the charcoal filters mean that it is a lot less smelly too.

Beautiful Colour Trusted Performance

I already have one of these compost bins so I knew how reliable it is. I bought this one for my Mum as the Mist colour beautifully tones in with her kitchen and is so handy for her to take to feed the chicken with its easy handle. The firm fitting lid and excellent filter means there is no odour in the kitchen.
