IT'S ALL IN THE DETAILS

The Ingredients

What's In Our Sunscreen?

- Active Ingredient: Zinc Oxide: 225mg/g - Ingredients: Medium Chain Triglycerides (coconut derived), Castor Oil, Candelilla Wax, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate (Ecocert), Coconut Oil, Polyglyceryl-3 Polyricinoleate (Ecocert), Iron Oxides, Tocopherol acetate, Avocado Oil (ACO), Kakadu Plum, Jojoba oil, Isostearic Acid (Ecocert).

What Is Zinc Oxide?

Zinc oxide is a mineral that sits on top of the skin, scattering, reflecting, and absorbing UVA & UVB rays. Although zinc oxide is the safest and most effective active sunscreen ingredient, the best protection from the sun is to seek shade and cover up with clothes and a hat.

Awkward consistency

This is a fantastic physical zinc sunscreen - leaves minimal white cast which fades as it sinks into the skin anyways. Highly moisturising so avoids white dry patches and is comfortable to wear. Only problem is that the un-tinted version is a watery consistency rather than a cream - regardless of the weather, which makes storage in a tin rather awkward, drippy and messy, especially in a beach bag. Due to this I have spilt a decent amount and have lots of leaks which is such a waste of great product. This is compared to the tinted version which I also purchased, which is a thicker perfect cream consistency that indeed, stays in the tin.

Unsure whether this was a batch issue, otherwise great idea for a product .

good, not great.

I love that this comes in eco friendly packaging and its reef safe, which is why I brought it, along with it being spf50! However, it was very thick and hard to work into the skin and left me looking really pale. I used this on my face and shoulders at the beach and used my regular one for the rest of my body, as this tin seemed small and I wanted to preserve product. However my shoulders got burnt. Didn't work the best for me i'm afraid.

Impressed

This is the best physical sunscreen I've tried so far - easy to apply, sinks in quickly (I've found that the initial stickiness just goes away after about 1 minute), doesn't have a weird smell, doesn't seem to leave a white cast or make me look 'worse' (not cosmetically compromising), high SPF and doesn't come in plastic. I would use this as a daily sunscreen. The only thing I'm not sure about is how much you're meant to apply to get adequate protection.

Perfect for sensitive skin!

I have tried heaps of sunblocks to find one that doesn’t make my face red and sting and finally I have! I was skeptical at first as the color seemed a bit intense, even though I got the non tinted one, but it rubs in great. I spend a lot of time outdoors and live in North Queensland. It has provided great protection. It is a bit shiny when you put it on your skin but that goes relatively quickly and isn’t something that bothers me. The only thing I would note it that if you are active like me then a very small amount of it can leak out of the side of the tin but I’ve just keep it in a separate part of my backpack now. If that’s something that concerns out then maybe wrapping it in paper towel of something.

Bloody amazing!

I have been looking for a good sunscreen/zinc that stays on while surfing and was not disappointed.

Just went for a 2 hours surf in the middle of the day after not getting much sun exposure in the last few weeks - was quite apprehensive getting burnt once more trying a new product - and did not get a.single.sunburn.

Brownie points: amazing texture, and all the oils and goodness inside that leave your skin feeling hydrated after swim/surf.
