ARE YOU READY TO
SAY SEE YA TO PLASTIC?

Whether you’re starting out on your sustainability journey or well on your way to living a 100% plastic-free life, join us for a month of zero (ish) plastic!

We know what you’re thinking. “A month of no plastic...is that even possible!?”

Giving up plastic entirely isn’t realistic for all of us (if anyone!). The goal of Plastic-free July is to challenge yourself in a sustainable, realistic way.

Whether it’s giving up plastic takeaway cups for the month, switching from liquid detergent to bars or hitting a bulk food store once a week, every little bit counts. Think Minimal-Waste lifestyle versus Zero-Waste lifestyle - although, that is the ultimate goal!

Not sure where to start? Here are some ideas from our Seed & Sprout Team:

Alena

Buying Assistant

As a beauty lover it’s hard to reduce plastic in the bathroom so for PFJ I’m not going to purchase anything new. I will also find alternative options for the empty containers as well as focusing on the correct recycling options for products that can’t be reused.”

Audrey

Head of Marketing

“Meal prepping for me is the best way to avoid unnecessary plastic. For the month of July I'm committing to meal prepping every Sunday so I don't end up buying lunch or snacks that come wrapped in plastic.

Sophie

Founder

This PFJ I'm tackling food packaging. Some things you just can't get unless they're wrapped in plastic. So I'm committed to learning how to make the things I love to eat. Tofu is one thing I've never been able to find plastic free so I'm going to try and make it from scratch!'

Hannie

Marketing Coordinator

“I'm going to head to the Farmers Market once a week in July to reduce plastic from my weekly shop! I usually go about once a month, but I'm going to make the effort to get there weekly!

Laura

Head of Product

“Trying out more plant based recipes and making things from my veggie garden rather than purchasing from the supermarket.

Ruby

eCommerce Manager

“Trying to get your head around how to reduce plastic in our lives can feel overwhelming - but progress over perfection! I'm going to use PFJ as a conversation starter with friends and family - we're all in this together, so we need to encourage one another to make mindful choices each day."

Ang

Content Producer

This PFJ I’m committing to using up all my current ‘packaged’ pantry goods, then moving to only buy my dry goods at a bulk food store once a month to avoid plastic packaging! I’m also determined to teach my fave drive thru team to accept my tumbler + straw for my iced coffees or thickshakes

Sally

CEO

“I've got lots of teenage boys at home and a fairly constant stream of visitors - it's always tricky getting everyone involved in reducing plastic! So for PFJ I'm focusing on educating the kids on reducing waste in the kitchen by setting up a new rubbish system based on the one we have at Seed & Sprout HQ!

Sarah

Community Coordinator

“I am going to TRY and do plastic-free for the month in the full knowledge that I will likely fail along the way but I'd love to give it a go. My life is pretty plastic-free but my food consumption isn't! This will force me to try and find plastic-free alternatives to the food I consume most days! Wish me luck!

Lisa

Product Planner/Developer

“I've been so busy lately that I've fallen out of the habit of making homemade snacks for the kids, so my PFJ pledge is to spend more time in the kitchen and stock the freezer full of goodies.

Ana

Customer Care Manager

I'm pledging not to buy any skincare with plastic packaging, which is REALLY hard because I've got sensitive skin and finding suitable plastic free products can be a challenge. I'm already doing well thanks to our Face Bar & Face Oil so I'm getting closer.
