You may have noticed that our cotton products are made from GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) Organic Cotton. It's something we're really proud of as there are many differences between GOTS organic cotton & regular cotton which makes it the more sustainable option.

A bit about cotton...
Cotton is a crop that typically requires a large amount of water and harmful pesticides to produce. Conventional cotton farming uses 16% of insecticides and 7% of pesticides globally. These stats are pretty huge! And is why we opt to use GOTS Organic Cotton for our products instead.
So what is GOTS Organic Cotton?
GOTS stands for Global Organic Textile Standard which means that the cotton is grown without chemical pesticides or harmful fertilisers. The standard was developed by leading standard setters to define a world-wide recognised requirements for organic textiles. This includes the harvesting of the raw materials, environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing and labelling. Any textiles certified to GOTS provide a credible assurance to you, our customers.
There is still a large amount of water used as cotton is a thirsty crop - this is why our cotton products are made to last. So you can buy once and buy well!
What we love about GOTS is that it takes into account both the environmental and human factors when it comes to producing cotton. We have to remember that people, real humans, are growing and making the products that we use. And with that comes great responsibility. This standard ensures that producers are fairly paid and work in good, clean conditions.
