$10 From Every Purchase Donated To Help Solomon Islands Community

Composting for Change: $10 from every Seed & Sprout Purchase This Week Makes A Big Difference

We're so excited to announce that we're partnering with our friends at Positive Change for Marine Life (PCFML) this Composting Awareness Week and donating $10 from every purchase towards funding a vital composting program in the Solomon Islands. We're encouraging our Seed & Sprout community to help us reach our $5,000 funding goal!

Positive Change for Marine Life (PCFML) have implemented many life-changing programs throughout the Asia Pacific Region including the "Waste To Wealth" initiative in Gizo, Solomon Islands. This program helps support the community to turn waste into valuable compost, improving food security, and creating sustainable jobs, especially for local women. Watch the video below to learn how it's done - very cool!

Unfortunately, the recent USAID funding cuts have affected programs like these. Without this funding, this composting initiative has been paused, leaving hundreds of families uncertain about their environmental and economic futures.

OUR COMMITTMENT

Once we heard about this gap, we had to act! We are driven by our belief in community-powered change and had to partner with the incredible Positive Change for Marine Life team.

We've committed to donating $10 from every purchase over $100 (up to $5,000) during Compost Awareness Week (4 - 11 May). The funds raised will go directly to providing composting kits, training, and resources for 275 households on Gizo Island. This is just a reminder of how a small change can make a BIG impact.

With this being said, your Seed & Sprout purchases now mean even more. They not only support your own journey towards sustainability, but they will also actively empower communities to resume composting efforts, fostering local job creation, enhancing soil fertility, and supporting food security. Pretty awesome, right?

THE IMPACT

Composting on Gizo Island isn't just an environmental project; it's about empowerment. Women in particular have taken a central role, becoming composting entrepreneurs, educators, and community leaders. With the USAID withdrawal threatening to stall these programs, our partnership with Positive Change for Marine Life team aims to keep them going.

The compost kits funded through YOUR support include essential composting items such as, compost buckets with lids, gloves, bags, and coconut coir. These tools are simple, yet capable of massive impact. Coupled with practical training, they represent a lifeline, helping families manage waste sustainably and earn income through the sale of compost and organically grown produce. Check out how it all works in the video below!

"The ability to restart this initiative means more than immediate relief - it signifies long-term sustainability and local empowerment."
