Did you know that 1 in 3 Australian children experience food insecurity? For many kids, the lunch they receive at school is the only guaranteed meal they'll have that day. It's hard to sit in a classroom, focus, and thrive on an empty stomach - and yet, for thousands of children across the country, that's the reality every single day.

This year, we wanted to do something about it as part of our Charitable Giving Initiative. Plus, we are giving away 3 x $200 Seed & Sprout Vouchers. Read on to learn more.

The Partnership

We teamed up with Eat Up Australia, a grassroots charity on a mission to ensure no child goes to school without lunch. What started in 2013 with founder Lyndon, his mum, and a few mates making sandwiches in Shepparton, has grown into Australia's only national organisation providing free, nutritious lunches to students across 1,200+ schools in NSW, NT, QLD, VIC and WA.

Last month, Eat Up reached an incredible milestone - 6 million lunches made and delivered to kids in need since they began. That's 6 million moments where a child could sit down, eat well, and show up for their day.

This month, we are donating $5,000 to Eat Up, helping provide around 4,000 nutritious lunches to children across Australia.

That's 4,000 less grumbly tummies. 4,000 more kids who are ready to learn.

Why Eat Up?

At Seed & Sprout, our mission has always been to do less harm and more good - for People and Planet. When we looked at who was making a real, tangible difference in the lives of Australian children, Eat Up stood out immediately.

For us, this one felt personal from the very beginning. Seed & Sprout started with our founder Sophie on a mission to find a better lunchbox solution for her son Archie. From that one simple idea, an entire lunchware brand was born. So when we discovered Eat Up and what they stand for, it felt like the most natural alignment.

Schools supported by Eat Up report improvements not just in classroom participation, but in student wellbeing and school attendance too. The impact of a simple lunch goes far beyond the meal itself.

What also struck us is just how far a small donation goes. $1.27 provides lunch for one child. $7 (the price of your morning coffee) can support a child for an entire week at school, or put lunch on the table for five hungry kids in a single day.

That's the kind of impact that's hard to ignore.

One small skip, one BIG impact

And now we're asking you - would you give up one of your weekly coffees?

For just $7, you can help provide a week's worth of nutritious lunches for a child who needs it most. It's the price of a flat white. And the impact is anything but small.
