ECO CRUSH: Leonardo DiCaprio

There’s no doubt about it: Leonardo DiCaprio is the Eco King of the World and our ultimate Eco Crush! Love is never too obvious, is it? Because this man is not just Green and Gorgeous, he invented it.

He was one of the first celebrities to describe himself as an environmentalist and he founded the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation in 1998 (more than 20 years ago!) to support environmental organisations and spread the word about sustainability.

His side-job (because let’s not forget he is a handsome and talented Academy Winner Actor) is to create public awareness on planet issues. If you haven't already heard, he produced the song Earth with Lil Dicky! The music video features the voices of numerous celebrities and singer-songwriters, including Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes, Miley Cyrus, Ed Sheeran, Snoop Dog, Charlie Puth, and more!

The Seed & Sprout team just watched the music video and we could not keep a straight face! You HAVE TO watch it if you haven't yet!

This song makes us want to hit SHARE. We can easily see this as the celebrity charity song of the century! A song our grandchildren will sing in admiration, as we do with Heal the World! It's already stuck in our heads and I bet you're now singing it too!

All the streaming profits go to Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation to support various environmental organisations. In addition to the song and video, the “Earth” project includes an interactive website called We Love the Earth, which aims to educate the public on the realities of climate change.

I don't think we have to convince you any further. Leonardo DiCaprio is and has been showing major, and we mean MAJOR love to our planet and its creatures. When he isn't starring on the big screen or being honoured with major awards, that is!

So what can we do? Get inspired and learn from this gorgeously green man, of course! We don't mean go off and make your own song too (though we wouldn't stop you if you wanted to), but every effort towards saving our home counts. Changing your habits and saying see ya to plastic is a really awesome place to start, don't you think?
